- Yes. The BWS-PV-01 Modern Gable Pavilion is a freestanding, open-sided timber structure on its own posts and footings — there are no walls, and it doesn't attach to a house. It's built for shading a patio, deck or outdoor dining area.
- Are the roof trusses included, or do I build them myself?
- The trusses are engineered, metal-plate-connected wood trusses ordered from a truss manufacturer to the specification sheet in the plan set — they arrive pre-built and are not field-cut. That spec sheet is what you hand to the truss manufacturer for a quote and sealed shop drawings for your permit.
- What foundation does it use?
- The plan set details three foundation options: buried posts set in concrete, concrete piers with standoff post bases, or an engineered-verified existing slab. Bearing capacity, frost depth and anchorage are site-specific — verify them locally before you build.
- What size lumber and roofing does it call for?
- The frame uses 6×6 pressure-treated posts and knee braces, doubled 2×10 beams, and 2×6 structural tongue-and-groove roof decking that also serves as the finished ceiling. The roof is metal panel over synthetic underlayment, with two panel options detailed in the plan set.
- Do I need a permit to build a pavilion?
